I have always enjoyed fitness and sports, having played football and tennis from young age. I feel most alive when moving, immersed in the experience.
Though my interest in personal training and movement science began when I actually started not to be able to move so well, a series of injuries- acute knee ligament rupture, back pain and shoulder labrum tear, all lead me to begin exploring human anatomy, movement science and physical therapies.
How could I take a active role in addressing my body movement function, improving posture and preventing further injury? After taking multiple courses then applying theory to practice to develop strategies that are effective. Firstly it is best to take a look at your body, what's your posture and how does that affect how one moves. Weakness in certain areas and over dominant muscles in others leads to imbalance and sub-optimal movement, commonly leading to discomfort and injuries. Once we are aware, we need to connect to our body and strengthen weak often elongated muscles and release tight muscles. Then look to integrate, using more dynamic movements to integrate new movement patterns. In essence stretch, strengthen and integrate. If you would like to learn how to move better, more freely, addressing root causes of body issues that might be holding you back please contact me.
